Our venue only had two restrooms for 140 guests. The trailer looked beautiful, stayed spotless all night, and guests kept asking where we found it. The team handled the park permit questions with us too.

Our only bathroom was gutted for six weeks. They dropped a combo trailer in the driveway on a steep street without any drama, and the weekly service was always on time.

Use this as a starting point, then call so we can check your hours, the bar and the layout. A four-hour reception and a twelve-hour festival day need very different capacity.

We rented a large trailer and an ADA unit for a two-day fair. Service between days was handled overnight and lines stayed short. Great crew.

Example jobs

How San Francisco Restroom Rentals Usually Go

Three typical jobs, with the questions people ask us first and how we plan around them.

Wedding party and guests posing together at an outdoor reception

Example: wedding

A 140-guest wedding at Fort Mason

The first question is almost always "Where does it go so guests do not see the hoses?" We walk the site with the planner, pick a level spot near the tent but out of the photo lines, and run power from the venue or a quiet generator.

A 2-room trailer covers this size for a five-hour reception. We deliver the morning of, the attendant checks supplies before dinner, and we pick up the next day.

Crew members talking on a city street work site

Example: film shoot

A three-day commercial shoot in SoMa

Film crews ask "Can it sit on the street?" Street placement needs a permit from San Francisco Public Works, so the location manager adds the trailer to the shoot permit. We send the trailer size and footprint for the paperwork.

A restroom and shower combo works well at base camp. And for a 6 a.m. call time, we drop the night before.

Work crew framing a home project with a miter saw

Example: remodel

A two-month kitchen and bath remodel in Noe Valley

Homeowners ask "Will it fit in the driveway?" A 2-room trailer fits most single-car driveways on a level grade. So the family keeps a real bathroom while the house is torn up, and the crew stops leaving the site to find one.

Long rentals get scheduled pumping and restocking, so nobody has to remember to call.

Neighborhood notes

Delivering Across San Francisco Neighborhoods

San Francisco is hills, narrow streets and tight parking. These notes come from the places we deliver most.

The Presidio and Crissy Field

Events here run through the Presidio Trust or the National Park Service, and both want to approve placement. Plan the trailer on pavement or a firm lawn edge, close to a power source.

Golden Gate Park

Park events need a San Francisco Recreation and Park permit. The meadows are soft after rain, so we stage on a road shoulder or path where the permit allows it.

Mission, SoMa and Dogpatch

Warehouse venues, street fairs and shoots. Most placements are curbside or in a loading area, so allow room for the truck to back in and leave.

Marina, Pacific Heights and Sea Cliff

Garden parties and home remodels on steep, narrow streets. A 2-room trailer is usually the right footprint, and we check the grade and the driveway width before delivery.

Treasure Island and Mission Bay

Open lots and waterfront venues with room for 5 to 9 room trailers. Wind is a real factor near the water, so we level and chock every unit.

Sunset and Richmond districts

Backyard weddings, family parties and remodels. Many homes have a garage-level driveway, which suits the smaller trailers well.

Planning guide

Placement, Power and What Is Included

The practical answers that make delivery day go smoothly.

Where the trailer can go

A restroom trailer needs a fairly level spot, about the size of a parking space plus room for the steps. The truck has to reach it, so measure gates and check for low branches or wires.

On private property you usually do not need a permit. On a street or sidewalk you need San Francisco Public Works approval, and in a park you need the park's event permit. We send the trailer dimensions for any permit form.

Power and water

Smaller trailers run on one dedicated 20 amp circuit, and larger units need a 30 or 50 amp hookup or a generator, which we can bring. Do not share the circuit with catering equipment.

For most events the onboard fresh water and waste tanks are enough. For long rentals, a garden hose connection keeps the sinks running without refills.

What comes with every rental

Delivery, setup, leveling, a stocked unit with toilet paper, soap, paper towels and air freshener, and pickup. Multi-day and long-term rentals include scheduled pumping, cleaning and restocking.

On-site attendants are available for weddings and big events if you want someone checking the trailer through the night.

Emergency and disaster response

When water or sewer service fails, or crews stage for a storm or fire, dispatch answers 24/7 and we send what is ready. Emergency crews at Cal Fire base camps and FEMA staging areas need the same thing a wedding does: clean, private restrooms that keep working.

Tell us the address, the headcount and how long you expect to need it, and we will build the plan from there.

Questions we hear most

Restroom Trailer Rental FAQ for San Francisco

How much does it cost to rent a restroom trailer in San Francisco?

Price depends on the trailer size, the number of days, the delivery location and the season. Rates follow demand, so booking early, especially for summer and fall weekends, usually gets the best price. Call 415-942-6202 or send the form for an exact quote that includes delivery, setup and pickup.

How much is a portable restroom per day?

Restroom trailers are usually priced per event or per day, with weekly and monthly rates for longer rentals. A one-day wedding and a three-month remodel are priced very differently, so the quickest way to a number is a short call with your dates and address.

Do I need a permit for a restroom trailer in San Francisco?

On private property, such as a backyard or a private venue, you usually do not. Placing a unit on a street, sidewalk or in a city park often needs a permit or venue approval. We help you sort out where the trailer can go and what your venue or permit office will ask for. Street and sidewalk placement is handled through San Francisco Public Works.

How many restroom trailers do I need for my event?

A 2-room trailer suits about 150 guests, a 3-room trailer about 225, and larger 5 to 9 room trailers cover roughly 150 to 800 guests. Events with alcohol, long hours or a mostly female crowd need more capacity. Tell us your headcount and hours and we will size it for you.

What is the difference between a restroom trailer and a porta potty?

A restroom trailer has private rooms with flushing toilets, sinks with running water, mirrors, lighting and heat or air conditioning. A porta potty is a single plastic booth. For weddings, corporate events and long jobs, guests and crews strongly prefer the trailer.

What does a restroom trailer need on site?

A fairly level spot the trailer can reach, and a standard power outlet or a generator for lights and climate control. Many units can run from onboard tanks, so a water hookup is helpful but not always required. We walk you through it before delivery.

Can you deliver the same day?

Often, yes. Dispatch answers 24/7, and we do our best to deliver as quickly as possible for emergencies and last-minute events. Call 415-942-6202 so we can check what is ready to go.

Do you have ADA accessible restroom trailers?

Yes. Our ADA trailers have a ramp, handrails, a wide door and a roomy accessible room. Pick an ADA +2 or ADA +6 trailer to get standard rooms in the same unit, or an ADA restroom and shower combo. Accessible units follow the ADA design standards for ramps, door width and turning space.

How far in advance should I book?

For weddings and big events, book as early as you can. Many customers reserve months ahead for peak season. We also keep units in reserve for emergencies, but no single trailer is ever guaranteed, so the sooner you call, the better.

Who cleans and services the trailer?

We do. Units arrive clean and stocked. For multi-day and long-term rentals we schedule pumping, cleaning and restocking so you never have to think about it.

Do you rent shower trailers too?

We rent restroom and shower combo trailers, including an ADA combo, which give guests or a small crew a private restroom and a hot shower in one unit.

How big is a restroom trailer and will it fit in my driveway?

A 2-room trailer is about the length of a large pickup and fits most single-car driveways. Larger 5 to 9 room units need a lot, a wide driveway or curbside space. Send a photo of the spot and we will tell you which trailer fits.

Can a restroom trailer go on a hill?

Many San Francisco streets are steep. We level trailers with jacks and blocks on a moderate grade, but very steep driveways may need a flatter spot nearby. We check the grade before delivery day.

Do restroom trailers need to be hooked up to water and sewer?

No. Each trailer has a fresh water tank and a waste tank, so it works without hookups for most events. For long rentals we can connect a hose, and we schedule pumping so the tanks never fill.

How long can I rent a restroom trailer?

From a single day to many months. Weddings and parties are usually one to three days, while remodels, construction and emergency jobs often run weekly or monthly with servicing included.

Are restroom trailers clean and private?

Yes. Each room has its own locking door, a flushing toilet, a sink with running water, a mirror and lighting. Units arrive cleaned and stocked, and every room stays private.
